Come March 17 when the new fiscal year begins for the NFL, the Lions will have a new quarterback on the roster in the form of Jared Goff. The first overall pick in the 2016 draft will officially become a member of the franchise in roughly three weeks. The Lions will also receive the Los Angeles Rams’ first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 and a third-round selection this April while Sean McVay’s club gets veteran Matthew Stafford (via ESPN’s Michael Rothstein and Lindsey Thiry).

But a quarterback may not be the only major change when it comes to this offense, now under the command of Anthony Lynn – who spent the past four seasons as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

As of this moment (via Ourlads), the Lions have five wide receivers – Kenny Golladay, Marvin Lewis, Danny Amendola, Mohamed Sanu and four-year pro Jamal Agnew – eligible for free agency come March 17. There’s speculation that the organization could put the franchise tag on Golladay, who was limited to only five games in 2020 but prior to that totaled 1,000-plus receiving yards the previous two seasons.

In any case, the Lions’ wideout corps expects to be different. So why not add journeyman deep-threat Breshad Perriman, who certainly can stretch defenses?
