2021 NBA Mock Draft 1.0: Cleveland Cavaliers swing big at No. 1

Taking Moody would be a second high-floor, (relatively) lower-ceiling pick for the Thunder inside the top-10. But as mentioned with Barnes, they have an offensive star in Gilgeous-Alexander and a tantalizing project they’re waiting on in Aleksej Pokuševski. When potentially elite role players show up, the Thunder have the luxury of taking relatively safer bets there and saving their high-upside gambles for their future picks.
Moody projects as a 3-and-D specialist with good size on the wing, solid defensive instincts and a developed profile as a shooter, both off the dribble and off movement. However, he’s also shown considerable upside as a slasher and secondary creator this season averaging 20.2 points and 6.7 free throw attempts per 40 minutes. A 3-and-D-plus wing may not be that exciting at the No. 8 pick but it’s an archetype that every good team could use depth with.
