Cade Cunningham, the potential first overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, led Oklahoma State to a massive upset against No. 7 Oklahoma.

March Madness is right around the corner, which means we are all bound to witness some monumental upsets. But on Saturday, the potential first overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham, gave us all a preview of what could come in the big NCAA Tournament on the second-to-last day of February.

Cunningham’s 40-point performance propelled the Cowboys to a massive 94-90 overtime upset against the No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday.

Cunningham’s career-high game

Cunningham’s 40 points are the most he’s put on the stat sheet during his time with Oklahoma State. His previous personal best came on Dec. 8 against Oral Roberts, where he scored 29 points in the 83-78 win.

While Cunningham was nearly unstoppable when shooting the ball, he was equally as dominant on defense. The freshman hauled in 10 defensive rebounds (11 boards total), as well as 3 steals and 2 blocks against the Sooners.

The Sooners were led offensively by guards Devion Harmon and Austin Reaves. Harmon’s 23 points (9-of-13 shooting from the field) and Reaves’ 22 points (7-of-18 from the field) just were not enough for Oklahoma to stop Cunningham.

Cunningham has the chance to put on a sequel on Monday, when the Cowboys host the Sooners in their final home game of the season. We can guarantee that there will be plenty of NBA teams destined for the NBA Draft Lottery doing their homework on Cunningham if he were to declare for this year.
