One game after his triple-double, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green exited a contest against Los Angeles Lakers with a left ankle sprain.

On Friday, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green put up a triple-double to lead his team to a revenge win over the Charlotte Hornets. Green and the Warriors were hoping to carry this momentum into Sunday night, when they faced the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately for Golden State, they got their doors kicked in and lost Green in the process.

In the first half, Green rolled his left ankle following a failed block attempt on a layup by Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. With Green unable to run down court on offense, he was taken out of the game for evaluation and eventually ruled out with a left ankle sprain.

The severity of the injury is currently unknown.

Night gets worse for Warriors

Considering the Warriors were trailing the Lakers 73-44 at halftime, it was probably a precautionary decision by the team to just sit Green out for the remainder of a lost game.

At the time of his exit, Green recorded 6 points (3-for-5 from the field), 2 assists, 1 rebound and 1 block in 13 minutes of playing time.

As mentioned earlier, Green was coming off an impressive performance against the Hornets the game prior to their Lakers contest. Everyone remembers how their previous meeting went, with Green’s double-technical giving Terry Rozier the chance to hit the game-winning shot as time expired. Yet, Green finally gained his vengeance, as he scored 11 points, dished out 19 assists and grabbed 12 rebounds in the 130-121 victory.

We should learn more about the severity of Green’s injury after the game.
