Aaron Rodgers’ amazing offseason continues as the Green Bay Packers quarterback donates $1 million to help small businesses in his hometown.

It has certainly been an offseason to remember for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The 15-year veteran didn’t make it to the Super Bowl like he had hoped, falling to eventual champion Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Still, Rodgers was awarded his third NFL MVP award after completing 70 percent of his passes and throwing for 48 touchdowns and only nine interceptions.

Rodgers also proposed to his girlfriend actress Shailene Woodley, who accepted and announced the news last week. If that wasn’t enough excitement for the QB, it was also announced that he will be guest-hosting the popular television game show Jeopardy! for 10 episodes starting on April 5. He was even thanked during the Golden Globes on Sunday night.

Now, Rodgers is determined to bring joy to his hometown of Chico, California.

The Packers’ veteran has donated $1 million to help 80 small businesses in his hometown of Chico and all of Butte County, California. Though he’s spent his entire career in Wisconsin, the star clearly hasn’t forgotten his roots.

The grants will cover rent and/or other operational costs for close to three months or longer for the restaurants and retail businesses. Rodgers personally notified nine of the business owners via video calls, which he shared on his Instagram account.

You have to love this sort of off-field effort from one of the league’s biggest stars at a time like this.
