OLB. Scouting Report. Arizona Cardinals. Haason Reddick. 2. player. 32. Pick Analysis

Having a quality pass rusher is essential now to win in the NFL. If you’re lucky, you’ll have two on opposite sides, forcing a quarterback to become flustered if they get past the tackle. This was an area Buffalo struggled with all season.

The Bills tallied 38 total sacks in 2020. Only A.J. Klein and Mario Addison had more than five. And against the Chiefs? Mahomes was sacked once for a loss of zero yards. That’s not going to win you that many games no matter who the competition is.

Haason Reddick proved to be a terror when used properly. Originally drafted to play inside linebacker, Vance Joseph decided to move him to a pass-rusher-specific role. It turned out beautifully as he set a career-best 12.5 sacks to go along with 63 total tackles.

The problem here is there’s only one year worth this type of production. Combined, Reddick’s first three seasons only tallied 7.5 sacks total. He also had 16 quarterback hits the same number as what he finished with in 2020.

This is another deal that could get done on a one-year basis. However, expect Reddick to want No.2 pass-rushing money when he still is proving his actual value. Buffalo needs a pass rusher, but for that money, they can upgrade elsewhere.
