5. Florida Gators

Next, it’s time to go to “The Swamp”. The home of the Florida Gators is one of the most insane college football experiences in the country. Playing the games under the lights is even better (and a little more manageable in the Florida heat). There’s a certain intimidation that comes with a Gators home game. Although opposing fans may be a little scared, it’s still a must-see situation.

While some fanbases are looking to turn game day into a reason to start partying at 10 a.m., UF students are looking to change the outcome of the football game. They want to put fear into the opposing team. It’s actively worked in the past.

The best part about the game day at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium? I Won’t Back Down. The Tom Petty classic hits the loudspeakers before the fourth quarter, and the entire stadium joins in on the chorus. Petty was a Gainesville native, so it only makes sense that his biggest hit becomes a part of every Gators’ home game.

On top of that, Florida has the best arm gesture in sports. The “chomp” is awesome and makes a ton of sense. It’s not offensive but it’s still intimidating. It goes through campus for the entire week, and on game day it’s even better.
