There are concerns that age has really caught up with P.J. Tucker and that his woeful shooting this season may be about more than just a chaotic situation in Houston with a roster that has already undergone significant changes. But his defensive versatility and playoff experience still make him one of the most appealing pieces for a team like the Celtics in need of an upgrade.

Like the Thunder, the Rockets will be after a first-round pick but if they can’t find a team willing to trade one for Tucker, the Celtics can make a reasonable offer. Giving up Teague here would make things thinner at point guard but he hasn’t been very good and theoretically, he’s largely out of the rotation anyway by the time the playoffs roll around with Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart playing all of the point guard minutes.

The Rockets may prefer Nesmith to Langford but either way, the Celtics can offer a young wing with theoretical upside and some combination of future second-round picks.
