Bengals mock draft, Ja'Marr Chase
NEW ORLEANS, LA – JANUARY 13: Ja’Marr Chase #1 of the LSU Tigers makes a reception against A.J. 2. Ja’Marr Chase

It’s time for the Bengals to let A.J. Green head to a Super Bowl contender. He’s been a great pillar of the franchise ever since he arrived, but the clock is ticking loudly on his career. If, as expected, he does leave in free agency, landing a new No. 1 wide receiver for Burrow would make a lot of sense for the Bengals.

Chase is arguably the top wideout prospect in this year’s draft class. Opting out of the 2020 season at LSU likely raised his draft stock given how much the Tigers’ offense struggled without him.

He’s not an elite speed guy, but he does show above-average burst when running against opposing cornerbacks. More importantly, he’s got genuine explosion that allows him to create big-time separation when he’s coming in and out of his routes.

The icing on the cake for Chase as a prospect is the plus hands he demonstrates on film. He turns incompletions into completed catches with ease. If he lands in Cincinnati he could transform the team’s receiving group from good to great.
