Browns receiver and former Cowboys and Steelers return man Ryan Switzer called for prayers on Twitter after his nine-month-old son was hospitalized.

Browns wide receiver Ryan Switzer is going through every parent’s worst nightmare right now.

On Saturday, he asked for prayers from his Twitter followers before explaining the ordeal that put his nine-month-old son in the hospital with COVID-19.

After three blood transfusions, Switzer updated Christian’s status, saying doctors found the reason for his unexplained bleeding. He will undergo surgery on Sunday with hopes of fixing the problem.

The only thing Switzer and his family can do now is wait for the medical professionals to do their thing. The only thing Twitter can do is send them all the prayers and good thoughts they can. Hopefully, Switzer will be able to share good news soon.

Ryan Switzer played for the Cowboys and Steelers before landing in Cleveland

Switzer has been in the league for four years, most recently serving on the Browns’ practice squad.

In 2017, the Cowboys drafted Switzer out of North Carolina where he was an All-American return specialist. The fourth-rounder played one season in Dallas, scoring a punt return touchdown and catching six passes for 41 yards. However, he was soon traded to the Raiders. The Raiders then shipped him to the Steelers.

Switzer spent two seasons in Pittsburgh, but he never really made his mark. He had 253 yards and one touchdown receiving in 2018. He played nine games before ending up on the IR in 2019.

When the Steelers cut him in September of 2020, the Browns picked him up for their practice squad. He was signed to a reserve/future contract by Cleveland in January this year.

He’ll look to fight for a roster spot when the Browns get back to training camp. Until then, he’s got much bigger and more important things on his mind than football.
