Scouting Report. player. 50. Pick Analysis. NFC North . . Detroit Lions . 4

Detroit’s head coach Dan Campbell talks about “biting knee caps” to the media. He also has done a great job addressing the needs of a proper offensive and defensive coordinator for the first time in the Motor City since the Jim Caldwell era.

But hey, keep focusing on the knee cap storyline huh? Since that’s a selling point, adding pass rushers that can pressure quarterbacks is a good place to start in fixing the 32nd-ranked defense from the 2020 season. For Judon, the question will be based on scheme fit.

Aaron Glenn, the Lions’ new DC, ran a base 4-3 or more 4-2-5 under Dennis Allen in New Orleans. Will the Lions remain in the similar style of Matt Patricia or will they add a standing pass rusher. Should it be the latter move, Judon is an ideal fit coming from off the edge.

Detroit has pressing needs all over their roster, but a team that tallied a mere 24 sacks certainly should upgrade their pass rush. If the team can find a way to cut costly contracts and free up some space, perhaps a one-year “prove it” deal at $16 million makes sense?
