Matt Judon rumors: 5 best fits in NFL free agency
A similar defense, a big market, a team looking to contend? The list goes on and on for the top spot, but all these and much more are the reasons why Judon and the Giants make plenty of sense if they can free up the cap space.
Patrick Graham’s defense was consistently a top-five unit in the final weeks of the season and did their best to pressure quarterbacks. They finished with 40 sacks on the season and made sure quarterbacks felt uncomfortable when maneuvering behind the line of scrimmage. Now, New York must find a way to keep both Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson this offseason.
Should both stay, Judon off the edge would be a perfect pairing. For years, teams like the Houston Texans shined winning at the LOS and off the edge with JJ Watt and Whitney Mercilus. In a similar setting, Williams would command initial contact, allowing Judon to take the corner and have a clean shot into the backfield.
Defense wins championships. It also wins divisions. The NFC East is wide open and the Giants have the right culture. With Graham, perhaps Judon finally reaches that Super Saiyan potential as a blitzer.
