5 players Browns should draft in the first round
3. Zaven Collins
Collins is another outside linebacker prospect who should draw strong interest from Cleveland. His versatility should permit him to rank ahead of Ojulari on the Browns’ board.
Cleveland certainly needs edge-rushing help from their linebacking corps and Collins can provide that. He possesses an excellent combination of length and speed from the edge. It’s easy to envision a scenario where he develops into a double-digit sack artist playing opposite a star like Garrett.
Focusing on Collins’s pass-rushing ability causes some scouts to ignore how good he can be going in the other direction. Collins has the speed and fluid hips required to flourish in pass coverage as well. He can turn into a matchup nightmare for NFL offenses because of his ability to do so many things well on the perimeter.
Landing a guy with legitimate star potential late in Round 1 is always a good thing for a team looking to elevate its ceiling. The Browns should be very happy if Collins falls into their lap at No. 26.
