2. Aaron Robinson

Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams are entrenched as Cleveland’s starting outside corners, but there is serious playing time available in the slot. Landing a top-notch No. 3 corner like Robinson in Round 1 would be a clever transaction for the Browns.

Robinson is unique as a high-level corner prospect in that he played a lot of his collegiate snaps in the slot. UCF gave him plenty of opportunities to match-up against wideouts in one-on-one coverage. He acquitted himself relatively well playing both man and zone during his collegiate career.

There are legitimate questions about Robinson’s ability to be a quality tackler at the next level, but the Browns drafted Williams despite similar concerns. They correctly understand that a prospect like Robinson should be judged on his ability to cover rather than his occasional opportunities to make tackles in space.

Robinson doesn’t have star potential due to his lack of ball skills, but he should be a quality starter in the slot for a long time. That would give Cleveland’s secondary a solid boost in 2021 and beyond.
