SEC Conference Tournament

  • Dates: March 10-14
  • Location: Nashville, TN
  • Venue: Bridgestone Arena
  • Top Seed: Alabama
  • Bracket

The SEC Tournament certainly looks a lot different than most experts thought it would at the beginning of the season. Kentucky and Tennessee were widely expected to be the class of the conference, which instead belonged to Alabama and Arkansas.

While the Volunteers are still a safe tournament team, the Wildcats have to win the SEC’s automatic bid to go dancing after a 9-15 season. Kentucky faces off with Mississippi State in the 8-9 game before getting a shot at Alabama in the quarterfinals with a potential showdown with Tennessee looming in the semifinals.

There is some concern surrounding the Crimson Tide of late since Alabama has looked a bit off down the stretch. Alabama’s path to the finals isn’t treacherous but they may get picked off once they get there.

The team to watch here is Arkansas, which is surging heading into Nashville with 11 straight SEC wins, including a beatdown of the Crimson Tide in Fayetteville. Ride the Razorbacks here as they should keep rolling into March Madness as they make a push towards the two-line.

Prediction: Arkansas
