3 surprise cuts the Buccaneers could make this offseason
1. TE O.J. Howard
Bruce Arians’ team has an abundance of talent at the skill positions. But some of those pieces that produced during the team’s championship season are potential unrestricted free agents.
There is the question on what to do with wide receiver Chris Godwin. It’s been suggested that general manager Jason Licht could slap franchise on the emerging performer. Rob Gronkowski – who caught a pair of TD passes from Tom Brady in Super Bowl LV – has already suggested that he would like to return for another year. Veteran wide receiver Antonio Brown also caught a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl. And running back Leonard Fournette, who totaled 448 yards and four scores from scrimmage during the team’s four-game playoff run, can also become a free agent on March 17th.

University of Alabama tight end O.J. Howard was the 19th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. His talent is enormous but his penchant for staying healthy has been the issue throughout his brief career. This past season, he missed a dozen games and has played in just 42-of-64 contests during his four-year NFL stint. Cameron Brate is a solid performer and if Gronkowski returns, Brady still has quite the potent punch at tight end.
