2021 NFL Mock Draft: How does Dak Prescott’s new deal affect first round?
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers made it back to the NFC title game this past season, but that was not the goal, as they are running out of time with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback. Coming off an MVP season, Rodgers needs the team to put more assets around him on the offensive side of the ball, and they add a starting offensive tackle in Liam Eichenberg here at No. 29 overall.
The Buffalo Bills are a legitimate Super Bowl contender heading into this offseason and are a few pieces away from possibly leapfrogging Kansas City for that honor in the AFC. They still need help on defense, however, and with pick No. 30 overall, they land an incredible edge rusher in Jaelan Phillips from the University of Miami.
The Kansas City Chiefs failed to repeat as Super Bowl champions this past season, but that does not mean they are going anywhere anytime soon. With pick No. 31 overall in the first round this April, Kansas City should add another weapon to Patrick Mahomes’ arsenal, and they do so by selecting Rondale Moore from Purdue.
As Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will close out the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and they do so by adding a talented defensive tackle to the mix in Christian Barmore. They are going to have to pay some of their defensive stars a ton of money, and in Barmore, they get a cheap fix for the interior of their defensive line.
