1. Jaguars first-round draft targets – QB Trevor Lawrence

We’ve spent so much time analyzing the options the Jaguars have at 25 because that is the only place they will actually have to make a choice. The move at no. 1 has been clear since the start of the 2020 season: taking Lawrence to finally solve the franchise’s quest for a star quarterback.

It looked like a Week 1 win over Indianapolis could be enough to cost Jacksonville Lawrence after the Jets’ incompetent 0-13 start but two wins in New York sealed the deal for the Jaguars. Taking Lawrence first overall has the potential to transform this franchise and potentially keep it in Jacksonville long term, which is good news for a franchise that has opted to play at least one home game in London for years.

Scouts are absolutely in love with Lawrence, who can make every throw and is the most highly-polished prospect to enter the draft since Andrew Luck in 2012. Luck took over a lousy Colts team and helped them reach the playoffs in his first year, which Jaguars’ fans would sign for right now after seeing only one postseason appearance since 2007.

New head coach Urban Meyer is also thrilled to be walking into the NFL with Lawrence, giving him a tremendous head start to building a winner. Lawrence is unquestionably the top guy on Jacksonville’s board and is the most obvious target to take with the first pick in years.
