Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James isn’t ready to give his word yet that he’ll represent the United States in the 2021 Olympics.

Once again this season, LeBron James is looking like one of the best players on the planet, with the Los Angeles Lakers continuing to impress. James, who powered the team to an NBA Finals ring last summer, is ready to not only win another Finals, but make a push for an MVP too.

With that said, fans are also hoping to see the future Hall-of-Famer suit up in Tokyo later this year to try and help team USA take home the gold medal at the Olympics. However, it’s not set in stone that James will be making the trip overseas to try and get that done.

It’s up in the air if LeBron James will play in the Olympics this summer

As you can see from the tweet above, James is totally unsure if he’ll end up playing in the Olympics. First, he wants to see how the Lakers end up playing this season before making a decision, while also talking things over with his family.

If for some reason the Lakers suffer an early exit in the postseason and James is clearly physically and emotionally drained from it, it’d be hard to imagine him wanting to get back on the hardwood to try and get ready for the Olympics. However, if he wins back-to-back Finals and is on top of the world, he may want to end his year with a bang in Tokyo.

Again, everything is pretty much up in the air here for James and team USA. We’ll have more clarity on things a little bit further down the road, but fans all over the globe would sure love to see him at the Olympics putting on a show, there’s no doubt about that.
