1. Wyatt Davis

If the Chiefs want to draft a plug-and-play starter in Round 1 they don’t need to overcomplicate the issue. Selecting Davis at No. 31 would give them an immediate upgrade at the right guard position.

Critics of the former Ohio State star correctly point out that his play slipped a bit in 2020 compared to his outstanding 2019 season. The Chiefs’ coaching staff should trust themselves to get Davis back to his best.

His talent is too obvious to ignore. Davis possesses excellent size and power to move defensive lineman out of the way on the interior. He needs a bit of work when it comes to getting to the second level effectively, but that’s nitpicking his prodigious skillset.

Chiefs fans aren’t going to throw a parade if their favorite team selects a guard in the first round, but inserting Davis into their starting lineup might help Kansas City throw a more important parade at the end of the season. He’s a no-brainer for Reid and the team’s higher-ups if he’s still on the board at No. 31.
