Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield took to Instagram to let everyone know just how fire up he is about the team signing standout safety John Johnson.

The Cleveland Browns and general manager Andrew Berry have made quite the splash on Monday, with the team agreeing to a new deal with standout safety John Johnson. The former Los Angeles Rams defensive back has turned heads because of his play, and now Browns fans are ready to see what he can do in the AFC North.

It’s not just team supporters who are fired up. Shortly after it was announced Johnson will be making his way to Cleveland, quarterback Baker Mayfield took to Instagram to share just how pumped he is over the latest free agency news.

Baker Mayfield is ecstatic the Cleveland Browns have signed John Johnson

As you can see from Mayfield’s social media post, the signal-caller couldn’t be happier with Berry getting things done here. Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Johnson’s contract with the Rams is for three years and $33.75 million. That’s a pretty big chunk of change, but there’s no question the speedy safety is worth every penny.

Last season for the Rams, the four-year veteran posted a head-turning 105 total tackles, one interception and eight pass deflections. He was a huge part of the Rams defense that finished ranked No. 1 in the league. Now, Johnson will look to fly all over the field and make some big plays for the Cleveland defense.

The Browns are coming off a superb year in 2020, going 11-5 and upsetting the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card Round. Come 2021, the team will be ready to make plenty of noise. They’re off to a great start in that department by beating out other teams to land Johnson’s services.
