2. Golden Tate

Golden Tate was released by the New York Giants earlier in March and remains on the free agent market. This came after he signed a four-year deal just two years ago.

Tate was never able to thrive in the Giants offense and things got so bad he was even held out of a game because of comments he made. He was just never going to fit with that team given his veteran status and desire to win.

The Chiefs seem like a perfect fit if he is willing to take a pay cut and chase a title in 2021. He is someone who could easily make an impact with 40-50 receptions per season, similar to what Watkins’ role was the past few seasons.

Fans should not worry about any character concerns from his time in New York. The Chiefs are the opposite of the Giants in terms of recent success and stability within the organization. Tate could come in and thrive in the slot role while Tyreek Hill continues to exploit opposing secondaries deep.
