3. Kadarius Toney

Toney is projected to land in Chicago via numerous mock drafts, but it’s possible his stock is going to rise as the draft approaches. His productivity in the slot for Florida last season is going to draw rave reviews as NFL talent evaluators dive into his film.

The knocks against Toney are that he lacks the size to play on the outside and he’s not an elite route-runner at this stage of his development. Neither of those concerns should stop Chicago from taking him in Round 1.

The team’s desire to work with three-wide receiver sets on the majority of snaps moot any concerns about his lack of size. The coaching staff can also work with Toney to improve his routes. He’s got all the athletic tools required to become a high-level technician from the slot.

More importantly, Toney’s got elite skills with the ball that can’t be taught. He might be the most explosive slot receiver in this class. He gets extra points for his ability to hurt opposing secondaries by making catches over the top.
