Deshaun Watson trade on hold due to his legal situation.

Everyone is on the edge of their seats wondering where Deshaun Watson will end up for the 2021 NFL season. Plenty of teams have voiced interest in the Houston Texans quarterback but they are all treading carefully due to the accusations that are surrounding the player currently.

Watson is being accused of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct and the lawsuits are plentiful. On Monday, six new lawsuits were filed bringing the total to 13. The suits cover multiple women, whose names have not been revealed. One of the suits claims that Watson sexually assaulted a massage therapist by “touching her with his penis and exposing himself.”

Others have claimed Watson grabbed them inappropriately, tried to force oral sex and/or rubbed his penis on them.

These teams are right to tread slowly because if Watson is found guilty of these accusations it could greatly affect the team. Even if he’s found not guilty, the court of public opinion could tarnish the team’s reputation. These are all things teams and their lawyers will have to consider before extending an offer.

Watson has denied any wrongdoing and has claimed the women are looking for a “six-figure settlement demand.”
