2021 NFL Mock Draft: Najee Harris heads west to join a Super Bowl contender
By Brad Weiss
The Tennessee Titans knew they had to go into this offseason ready to bolster the defense, and they have done just that via free agency. By swinging multiple deals on that side of the ball, Mike Vrabel can turn his attention to the offense at pick No. 22 overall, and he does so by adding Kadarius Toney with his first-round pick in 2021.
This is a kid who really stood out during the Senior Bowl practices, and is someone who can come in and be a real weapon for Ryan Tannehill. With Corey Davis heading to New York, the Titans need someone to come in and start right away, and Toney has the skill set to do just that.
The New York Jets added a quarterback with pick No. 2 overall, bringing in Zach Wilson from BYU to take over for Sam Darnold. At pick No. 23, the one they got for trading Jamal Adams to Seattle, they bring in a talented player on the other side of the ball, adding Jaycee Horn from South Carolina.
Cornerback has been an issue in New York since Darrelle Revis left, and Horn is a guy who is NFL-ready heading into this draft. He would be a star in the Jets defensive backfield and would find a soft landing spot with a defensive genius as a head coach in Robert Saleh with the Jets.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are running it back with Ben Roethlisberger for one more season, and he is going to need all the help he can get. On defense, they have some nice young pieces, especially T.J. Watt, but they need some serious help in the secondary, which is what they address here at pick No. 24.
With this selection, the Steelers add Northwestern star Greg Newsome, selecting the blanket cover corner to bolster their secondary. The AFC North is going to be loaded next season, and if the Steelers do not improve their defensive backfield, they could be on the outside looking in at the playoffs.
