Purdue’s Rondale Moore might have secured his first-round draft status following his Pro Day.

With the 2021 NFL Combine officially shut down, a school’s pro day is the one place where a prospect can shine. It’s the final rehearsal before the NFL Draft, meaning the numbers posted here will be essential to draft location.

Based on tape alone, Purdue’s Rondale Moore is a fringe first-rounder. After his pro day, that status is trending upwards.

Moore measured in at 5-foot-7, limiting his role as a boundary receiver at the next level. The size will be a concern, but should be vastly overlooked due to his speed and agility. Moore wowed scouts with an unofficial 4.29 40-yard time. He followed that up with a 45.5 inch vertical jump.

To put his speed into context, Tyreek Hill ran a 4.29 40-time at West Alabama’s Pro Day back in 2016.

Is Moore now a first-round star?

.With the option to opt-out before the start of the 2020 season, Moore elected to begin the year on the roster. That changed quickly as the Boilermakers went 2-1 to kick start the year before the Moore elected to opt-out for the remainder of the abbreviated season.

In three games, Moore recorded  35 receptions for 270 yards and added another 32 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Over three seasons with the Boilermakers, he recorded 178 catches for 1,915 yards and 14 touchdowns, with 248 yards and three more touchdowns on 32 rushing attempts.

Teams are always looking for the next gadget player and Moore fits the bill. Any organization with  a mastermind offensive coordinator would enjoy working with a player such as a junior based on skillset alone.

Although his small frame might cost him a top 10 pick, don’t be shocked when Moore’s name is called in the first round come April 29.
