Kyle Lowry had to pause his post-game press conference Wednesday night after receiving a call from Drake.

Kyle Lowry is a Toronto Raptors legend and is now spending Thursday waiting to find out where he will play next. His team hit a rough patch earlier this season and that caused the focus to shift toward trading Lowry.

The Raptors actually played great Wednesday night in a fitting send-off for Lowry, even if the “home” game was played in Tampa. The veteran guard had eight points and nine assists in the big win over the Denver Nuggets.

Lowry’s post-game press conference obviously had a much different focus than just the game itself. His time with the media took an even more unexpected turn when he got a call from the one and only Drake.

Drake is one of the most famous NBA fans out there and he likely would have embraced Lowry on the floor if this was a normal season. Instead, he had to make a call that Lowry was sure not to ignore. Fans may also see this and be shocked to think of looking at their phone and see that Drake is calling.

The writing was on the wall before Wednesday’s game and to the team’s credit, they went out and destroyed the Nuggets. That is a good sign for this team if the next game is played without both Lowry and Norman Powell.

When Drake calls, you answer. Lowry knows that and Wednesday night proved yet again how important the Raptors legend is to the city of Toronto and to its fans.
