The Saints don’t have a pick in the fifth round right now. So moving on…

Round 6

player. 15. Bowling Green. 218. TE. Quintin Morris. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Saints tight end room has been cleaned out this offseason, with the release of Jared Cook and the free agent departure of Josh Hill. Adam Trautman is all that remains right now.

Morris started his career a Bowling Green as a wide receiver, before moving to tight end as a senior. He had 20 catches in five games last season, with 97 receptions and 11 touchdowns over the previous two seasons. The Falcons had subpar quarterback play through most of his career, which is actually being kind. But his intriguing combination of size (6-foot-2, 240 pounds at his Pro Day) and speed has made Morris an NFL prospect.

At his Pro Day Mar. 22, Morris posted a 4.58 40, with a 119-inch broad jump (9 feet, 11 inches), a 34-inch vertical jump and 22 bench reps. The bench press reps would have been fourth-most among tight ends at the 2020 NFL Combine.

Rookie tight ends generally have a sharp learning curve in the NFL. But Sean Payton will surely have a plan to deploy Morris in a way that would allow him to contribute right away.

Round 7

15. Texas. Ta'Quon Graham. 229. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. DL

Graham looks the part (6-foot-3, 290 pounds, 35-inch arms, 85-inch wingspan, etc.), and over his last two seasons at Texas he posted 17.5 tackles for loss (21 games). He doesn’t offer a lot of juice as a pass rusher at this point, but that could be developed at the next level. As the Saints look to add some depth along the defensive line, Graham looks like a nice flier.

15. 255. player. OG. Notre Dame. Tommy Kraemer. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Kraemer started his career at Notre Dame playing right tackle, before kicking in to guard for his last three seasons. As a  redshirt senior last season, he earned First Team All-ACC and Third Team AP All-American honors. He’s strong player as a whole, but he lacks top-end athletic traits and NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has given him the label no offensive lineman wants-“waist bender.” Still, as a depth piece who might stick and become more, the Saints easily take the flier here.
