2. Miami Marlins

The Marlins ended a long playoff drought in 2020, then they swept the Cubs 2-0 in a short Wild Card Series. The NL East is loaded with teams that have high expectations who could also talk themselves into World Series aspirations, while the Marlins operate below the radar. Led by a promising starting rotation (Sandy Alcantara, Sixto Sanchez, Pablo Lopez, Elieser Hernandez), Miami will be an interesting team in 2021 with a lot of promise for the future.

Speaking of that promise, the Marlins have MLB.com’s No. 4 farm system heading into the new year. Top prospect Sanchez is not going anywhere, but virtually anyone else in their top-30 prospects would be in play if it meant getting Correa.

Miami’s Opening Day shortstop would be Miguel Rojas right now. No offense to him, since he’s a good a player, but Correa is a huge upgrade if he can be had and the Marlins can’t turn away from the opportunity. Rojas could move to second base, and strengthen that spot on the Marlins’ infield.
