Dawson Knox

The Bills and the fanbase have been waiting for Dawson Knox to take a step forward since he was drafted two years ago. The former Mississippi Rebel was a monster in college, and he was expected to bring that combination of toughness and ability to the NFL. That hasn’t happened yet. Despite Josh Allen’s insane passing numbers last season, Knox wasn’t able to break 300 yards and only scored three touchdowns last season. He wasn’t getting open at important times, and the Bills need more from the tight end position.

Knox’s best game came in the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs. He had six catches for 42 yards and a touchdown. He actually scored a touchdown in both playoff games for the Bill. This shows that he can make an impact when the Bills need him. Hopefully, that can build his confidence going into this season.

Everyone was predicting that the Bills would address the tight end position in free agency. Kyle Rudolph, Jonnu Smith, and Hunter Henry were intriguing names for the Bills to target, but they opted to sign former Seahawks tight end Jacob Hollister. This isn’t going to really provide much competition to Knox.

The Bills are committed to making Knox work, and Allen can make a pass catcher work. Teams are going to do what they can to make sure the wide receiving talent doesn’t beat them on a weekly basis. This is where Knox can take advantage. If he just plays to his ability, then he’s going to be yet another weapon in Allen’s arsenal.
