Lesson learned by the Atlanta Braves — you cannot run on Roman Quinn.
Quinn remains a relatively unproven commodity roaming center field for the Philadelphia Phillies, but if we’ve learned anything on Opening Day, it’s that he arm strength should not be questioned…ever.
In the top of the tenth inning, Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies tried to tag from third on what would’ve been a potential game-winning sacrifice fly. Instead, Quinn threw a 96.3 MPH fastball home from center, nabbing Albies at home and extending the game.

The Phillies would walk off in the bottom of the frame, making for an exciting walkoff victory in South Philadelphia thanks to Jean Segura.
The NL East is loaded this season, with the Phillies remaining as a relative afterthought. Dave Dombrowski, Joe Girardi and Co. have high expectations for their club, however.
Game 1 of 162 went according to plan. Remaining atop the division beyond April 1 will prove to be one heck of a challenge, however.
