2021 NFL Mock Draft: Trades throw first round into chaos
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers once again pass on adding a wide receiver in the first round, but at least they give reigning Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers some protection. Samuel Cosmi will be a Day 1 starter at right tackle at the NFL level and has the skill set to eventually move to the left side for the foreseeable future in Green Bay.
The Buffalo Bills have done a nice job getting better on both sides of the ball, and that culminated in them getting to the AFC title game this past season. Now, they have to fix the few issues they still have, and Azeez Ojulari is the kind of edge rusher who can help improve the Bills defense, especially when they get back to the playoffs next season.
The Kansas City Chiefs decided to hit the reset button at the offensive tackle spot this offseason, though they have done a nice job in revamping the offensive line as a unit. At tackle, they could decide to roll with a rookie, and Jalen Mayfield is a guy who is ticketed for the late first round, or early second, making him a nice get here at No. 31 overall.
We round out our first round with the reigning Super Bowl champions, a team that has brought back all 22 starters from a year ago. At pick No. 32, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Washington defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike, which is a luxury pick thanks to the fact they have very few holes to fill on this roster.
