Round 5-7

The Giants don’t have picks in Round 5 or Round 7 right now, but they’ve got two picks in a short span of Round 6.

Texas Tech. 196. 31. OG. Jack Anderson. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Anderson was a top-50 recruit out of high school, as he turned down powerhouse schools to stay in his home state. Only a shoulder injury as a junior in 2019 kept him from being a four-year starter at right guard for the Red Raiders as he earned second-team (2018) and first-team (2020) All-Big 12 honors.

The Giants need to replace Kevin Zietler at right guard, and their current plan doesn’t look great. Anderson will at least be another option, and he could win the job.

Malcolm Koonce. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Buffalo. 201. player. 31. DE/OLB

In six games last season, Koonce had five sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss on his way to First Team All-MAC honors. In 2019 he had his best year, tallying eight sacks and 11 tackles for loss as a First Team All-MAC player that year too.

Koonce faces the challenge of a step up in competition at the next level, and his game needs to evolve. But with the value attached to those who can get after the quarterback in mind, he has a potentially bright future in the league.
