4. Jonathan Taylor won’t crack 1,000 yards rushing

Taylor wasn’t the first running back taken in the 2020 draft, but he was the best rookie rusher in the league. The former Wisconsin standout racked up 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns during his rookie campaign.

He’ll continue to be a big part of the Colts offense even after Wentz’s arrival. Indy still wants to pound opponents into submission with their physical ground game. Taylor fits that style to perfection.

The return of Marlon Mack to full health is going to eat into Taylor’s workload though. Indianapolis’ front office will try to keep Taylor’s workload under control during the regular season to make sure he’s fresh for a postseason run. That means Mack is going to really eat into his regular season workload.

The end result is going to be disappointing for fantasy owners who make Taylor a high draft pick. He’s not going to hit the 1,000-yard mark again. He might be even more efficient in 2021, but his individual stats are going to take a slight dive.
