The New Jersey Devils have endured a tough season, but they got an epic win on Friday night when they roasted a troll into oblivion.

Tony Soprano would have been proud of the Garden State’s hockey team.

On Friday, the New Jersey Devils suffered a 6-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. During the defeat,  a Twitter user with the handle of @Rickyyyboy36 decided to let the team know of his immense frustration, suggesting they score and play some defense instead of posting memes.

At that point, the Devils Twitter account chose violence.

Seriously, in seven years of HBO’s The Sopranos, we saw some brutal stuff. And yet, few things more brutal than the vicious attack by the Devils, who roasted this dude so bad he deleted his account off social media.

It’s been a rough decade the team, as the Devils have only reached the playoffs once since 2012, when they went from a No. 6 seed to the Stanley Cup Final. However, while the losses are piling up on the ice, they nabbed a huge win on the Internet.

As for @rickyyyboy36, it’s tough to know what is next. He could go back to the gym and keeping pumping iron (or maybe start, considering that photo). Maybe he decides to take up some hockey lessons and help the Devils start scoring. Maybe he walks away from the team completely after being so thrashed and becomes a New York Rangers or Philadelphia Flyers fan, joining ranks with New Jersey’s biggest rivals.

Regardless, what we saw on Friday night from the Devils was a malicious attack.

Show disrespect, and there’s a price to pay.
