Kyrie Irving, Dennis Schroder ejected from Nets-Lakers game

Kyrie Irving and Dennis Schroder were ejected during Saturday’s Brooklyn Nets-Los Angeles Lakers game.

Basketball fans were given a treat on Saturday in the form of a potential NBA Finals matchup. The Kevin Durant-led Brooklyn Nets faced off against the LeBron James-less Los Angeles Lakers. In the second half, two players found their nights ended earlier than expected.

Kyrie Irving and Dennis Schroder were jawing back and forth at each other, which caught the attention of the on-court officials. As the exchanging of words continued, both players were handed double-technicals and subsequently ejected from the game. This is now the first time that Irving and Schroder were tossed from a game by the referees.

The Nets star guard was obviously miffed at the referees’ decision to eject, as he tossed his jersey into the Barclays Center stands as he departed to the locker room.

Irving’s night ended with 21 points scored (6-for-11 from field, four-for-four on free throws) and four grabbed rebounds in 21 minutes of playing time. As for Schroder, the Lakers point guard recorded 20 points (7-for-11 on field goals, two-for-two on free throws), four assists and one rebound in 20 minutes of playing time.

Fans will definitely be waiting for the referee’s official statement on how they reached the conclusion to toss Irving and Schroder from the game. Additionally, we will see if the NBA will further punish Irving and Schroder.
