Here’s what a trade to No. 4 would look like for the Broncos

If the Denver Broncos want to trade up with the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021 NFL Draft, this is what a deal would look like.

Don’t think the Denver Broncos aren’t considering a big move in the NFL Draft.

After all, new general manager George Paton is sitting on a good roster with a bad quarterback. Last year, second-year man Drew Lock led the league with 15 interceptions despite only playing in 13 games. Now, with Lock still as the starter, the Broncos have an opportunity.

In a draft with five quarterbacks seen as top-10 picks, Denver has a chance to go big. And, in a division with Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes, that’s the only way to become a true contender both for the AFC West title and more.

However, the Broncos currently pick No. 9 overall. We already know the first three picks will be quarterbacks, with Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson going to the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets, respectively. After that, the San Francisco 49ers will take either Mac Jones, Trey Lance or Justin Fields. This leaves two top-end quarterback prospects for when the Atlanta Falcons come on the clock at No. 4 overall.

With it being assumed the Falcons are open for business, here’s what the Broncos would likely need to offer to move into that slot based off the renowned trade value chart:

For the Broncos, this is a no-brainer if Paton likes one of the quarterbacks remaining on the board. Additionally, Denver should have a good idea of what the 49ers are going to do. San Francisco has no reason to hide its intents since the first two picks are essentially locked in. Also, San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch both have ties to Denver, with Shanahan’s father winning two Super Bowls there and Lynch being in the Ring of Honor.
