QB, Broncos. Drew Lock. 45. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. . 3.. player

Lock is headed into a make-or-break season in 2021, as the Broncos are surely weighing all remaining quarterback options. But there’s reason for optimism he’ll have a third year breakout, with a fully healthy set of weapons and another year in Pat Shurmur’s offense. He has also been working with Peyton Manning this offseason, which can only be a good thing. It may even qualify as a profession of faith from the Broncos.

With Courtland Sutton fairly certain to be ready for Week 1 after an ACL tear early last season, a wide receiver group lead by he, Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick looks pretty good. The Noah Fant-Albert Okwuegbunam tight end duo could be very good too. And don’t forget about Melvin Gordon leading the way at running back. Consistency will be the key for Lock.

Of course the idea of a breakout season for Lock will take a serious hit if the Broncos draft a quarterback at No. 9 overall, or they move up to get one of the top quarterback prospects as many analysts think they should do. Any other scenario, this side of a late, unexpected trade for Watson, will line up Lock as the starter going into this season. Again it’s a make-or-break campaign for him, but the stars may align for a breakout that solidifies him as the Broncos’ quarterback for years to come.
