Scouting Report. TE. Blake Jarwin. 3. 123. Pick Analysis. Dallas Cowboys. player

If you wrote/read this same exact article at this time last year, Blake Jarwin could have been on it. In fact, surely there is some script published on the deep world of the internet that does have Jarwin on such a list prior to the last campaign.

Basically, Jarwin was pegged to breakout in 2020, but he tore his ACL in the team’s first game and had to miss the rest of the season.

Heading into 2020, Jarwin posted back-to-back 300+ receiving yards seasons in 2018 and 2019. He hauled in 58 receptions in that time with six touchdown catches. 2019 was his best year, which is why many believed that he might become another key member in a talent-rich offense without anyone ahead of him.

Jarwin still can be that for the Cowboys, and his role seems more solidified with Dak Prescott returning. Even though Dalton Schultz broke out while Jarwin was injured, Jarwin can still be the lead tight end.

In an offense with many other skill position guys to pay attention to, Jarwin could slip into space like Schultz did last year and do damage. He could get favorable one-on-ones with smaller safeties or less physical and slower linebackers.

Yes, there seems to be hype surrounding the Cowboys and Kyle Pitts. If that does end up happening, obviously, Jarwin’s role diminishes. Until then, Jarwin is a great breakout candidate playing in an offense where there are many balls to be caught.
