1. Las Vegas Raiders

Per usual, the Silver and Black spent this offseason reshaping its roster. When it came to the offensive trenches, the team wound up dealing away tackle Trent Brown, guard Gabe Jackson and center Rodney Hudson to the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals, respectively.

But there was other news recently when the Raiders opted to part ways with a pair of three-year defensive linemen Arden Key and Maurice Hurst. The release of the latter seemed to be somewhat of a head-scratcher. Now during free agency, head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock did add the services of pass rushing standout Yannick Ngakoue and also signed interior performer Quinton Jefferson and Solomon Thomas. The latter was the third-overall pick in the 2017 draft but was a disappointment in San Francisco and comes off an injury-shortened 2020.

Of course, Gruden has a new defensive coordinator in veteran coach Gus Bradley, who has certainly made the rounds as both an assistant and a head coach. Perhaps his presence and the possible addition of Sheldon Richardson could make things more interesting in the AFC West – a division which has been owned by the Kansas City Chiefs for the past five seasons and hasn’t been captured by the Raiders since 2002.
