1. Add both a left and a right tackle of the future

Does anyone else remember how Mahomes basically had to play by himself against the Tampa Bay front seven? In what felt like a one-sided battle, the offensive line in place was able to do nothing against names like Jason Pierre-Paul, Lavonte David and Shaquill Barrett.

With Schwartz and Fisher gone, both tackles must be addressed at some point. Will Lucas Niang be one of the options despite opting out due to COVID-19? Is Mike Remmers really the best selection on the right side?

There’s talent at the tackle position in every round of this upcoming draft. Should Kansas City look to add a player in the first round, Texas’ Sam Cosmi or Alabama’s Alex Leatherwood would be ideal. In Round 2 or 3, Northern Iowa’s Spencer Brown or Cincinnati’s James Hudson could be developmental players who take over for years to come.

If Kansas City had protection down in Tampa, who’s to say if the game would’ve gone differently? Next season could be the same thing if the five current offensive linemen expected to start will trot out there again.

It’s simple, Brett Veach: Add two tackles and prosper with a still talented offense.
