Aaron Donald gets apology from man who falsely accused him of assault, no charges expected
By John Buhler
Aaron Donald has received an apology from the man who wrongfully accused him of assault.
Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was wrongfully accused of assault and charges will not be pressed against him at this time.
Video evidence refutes any wrongdoing by Donald in the Pittsburgh nightclub. In fact, the video surveillance footage shows Donald trying to break up the fight that led to his accuser DeVincent Spriggs myriad of injuries. Spriggs’ attorney Todd Hollis extended a formal apology on his behalf to Donald in a statement to KDKA in Pittsburgh. It seems genuine and a step in the right direction.
“I wanted to make this statement public. And to extend an apology to Aaron for what he’s gone through, but I clearly know this was not him.”
Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald will not be charged with assault
The whole incident involving Donald was fishy from the start. Why would arguably the best player in football willingly attack a man in a Pittsburgh nightclub? He would have nothing to gain and everything to lose if he were to be charged with assault. Also, why would any human want to get punched in the face by the superstar defensive lineman for the Rams? Donald would mess you up.
The good news is Donald will no longer have this incident on his conscience. He can get back to work to help the Rams be the best team they can be in 2021. Mistaking identity or not, Spriggs got beat up pretty badly in the Pittsburgh nightclub. Donald may have just been at the wrong place at the wrong time. With Spriggs apologizing through his attorney, Donald can finally move forward.
While Donald is off the hook, Spriggs and his representation still have their work cut out for them.
