1. Mike Zimmer will be fired

Zimmer is a quality head coach who’s had a solid, but unspectacular run in Minnesota. The simple truth is that it’s time for the Vikings’ roster to hear a new voice that might inspire them more than their current headman.

Zimmer won’t struggle to find another job, but he’s going to get the ax sometime near the middle of the 2021 season. The Vikings are going to struggle as soon as they experience some injury-inspired adversity. There will be no reason for Minnesota to keep him on the payroll after they fall out of the playoff hunt.

In many ways, his decision to roll the dice on Cousins as his franchise quarterback will be the decision that many fans believe inspired his ultimate failure in Minnesota. Curiously, it’s his defensive failings that will ultimately place the final nail in his coffin.

Big-time change is coming for Minnesota and that’s going to start with a regime change at the top. Zimmer will be fired in place of a more offensive-minded coach designed to upgrade the team’s scoring. The clock is ticking loudly on Zimmer’s tenure with the Vikings.
