2021 NFL Mock Draft: Justin Fields or Mac Jones at No. 3 overall?
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers should probably draft a wide receiver in the first round, something that would make quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, they also need help along the offensive line, and Notre Dame’s Liam Eichenberg will eventually make Rodgers happy they drafted him.
The Buffalo Bills have to get better on defense if they are going to beat the likes of Kansas City and Baltimore consistently, and they get a solid player in Gregory Rousseau at pick No. 30. Sure, Rousseau is a bit of a project, but head coach Sean McDermott is an elite defensive mind, and will eventually turn this kid into a monster.
After watching Patrick Mahomes run for his life in the Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs have to make sure they have a better situation at offensive tackle this upcoming season. By drafting Jalen Mayfield from Michigan at No. 31, they get a player who can start right away, and they certainly need that after getting rid of Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finish out our first round by selecting Penn State edge rusher Jayson Oweh, who is going to flourish learning from a veteran unit on the defensive side of the ball. Oweh had issues racking up sacks at Penn State, but learning under the likes of JPP and company will eventually lead to him being a dominant pass rusher at the next level.
