2021 NFL Mock Draft: Justin Fields or Mac Jones at No. 3 overall?
By Brad Weiss
With the first overall selection, the Jacksonville Jaguars got themselves a franchise quarterback, and here at No. 25, they get him a weapon. Rashod Bateman has the size and speed to be an elite wideout at the next level, and he would be an excellent deep threat for the young Trevor Lawrence at quarterback.
The Cleveland Browns are stockpiling talent for their defense and recently added Jadeveon Clowney to the mix at defensive end. With pick No. 27, they continue to bolster the defensive line, this time looking at the interior and adding Alabama defensive tackle Christian Barmore, the best player at his position in this draft class.
The Baltimore Ravens championship teams were all built on their defense, and they need to address that side of the ball in the first round. With pick No. 27 overall, the Ravens add who many believe is the best edge rusher in this draft class in Kwity Paye, giving them another threat on the outside.
The New Orleans Saints will be replacing Drew Brees with either Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill this offseason, and with pick No. 28, they get whoever is the starter a weapon. Elijah Moore is a guy who is starting to get some first-round buzz, and as a new quarterback takes over in the Bayou, getting Michael Thomas some help at wideout makes sense.
