2021 NFL Draft: 10 best players available after Round 1
2. Aaron Robinson, CB, Central Florida
In a cornerback-heavy NFL Draft class, Robinson is among the more underrated, and one of the most gifted players still available as Round 2 gets underway on Friday.
Robinson, 5-foot-1 and 190 pounds, is a classic press-man cornerback who thrives on physicality, especially when lined up in the slot.
While he didn’t intercept a pass last season at UCF, he did produce 42 tackles and Sports Info Solutions gave him a 104.9 coverage grade on his 38 targets, of which he broke up nine tackles.
Teams looking for a slot cornerback who can move outside in dime packages, particularly those that deploy a press-man scheme will be getting a high-end contributor and ideal scheme fit.
1. Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
A blazing playmaker with the ball in his hands, Rondale Moore has the kind of speed that offensive coordinators would love the chance to weaponize out of the slot position, where he’d draw favorable matchups against more physical, but slower cornerbacks.
Moore, 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds caught 35 of his 44 targets last season, for 270 yards but Purdue quarterbacks produced an 80 percent completion percentage when targeting him.
In a receiver-heavy draft class, it was a bit surprising to see him fall out of Round 1, but some team is going to get an impact player on Friday.
