The Green Bay Packers fan base must be feeling the exact same way as Patrick Mahomes tweets.

Just hours before the 2021 NFL Draft, ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers may want out of town. According to report earlier in the day, the San Francisco 49ers were one of two teams that try to trade for the three-time MVP.

This news would be groundbreaking no matter the timing, but with teams having their draft boards situated and player’s circled to draft, thing might change everything. If Packers GM Brian Gutekunst truly will field offers, this would be the biggest trade in NFL history.

It also would have to be made on Thursday evening. Naturally, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes couldn’t help but get in the fun of what the news could be.

Unlike Green Bay, Kansas City is secure with their MVP quarterback’s status.

Is Aaron Rodgers really out of Green Bay?

According to Schefter, the Packers are aware of the situation. Hopefully, a simple conversation will be enough to mitigate the fire and ease the tension between the two parties.

That’s so much easier said than done, though.

Last April, Gutekunst traded up in the draft to select Utah State quarterback quarterback Jordan Love. The indication would be he would learn under Rodgers before eventually taking over in the coming years.

That my no longer be the case since Rodgers decided to go off last season. He finished the year with over 4,000 passing yards and 48 touchdowns against five interceptions. In the past two seasons, Green Bay has gone 26-6 in regular season, but fell short in the NFC Championship Game.

Meanwhile, Kansas City seems to be gearing up for another deep run. The team added Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowler Orlando Brown Jr. to play the left tackle and still will have two second-round picks to add weapons to both sides of the ball.

While there seems to be a fire brewing in Green Bay, Mahomes can sit back and watch knowing his status is secure in Chiefs Kingdom. Although the team might not have a first-round pick, they are in a much better status than the Packers entering the evening.
