3. Darrell Taylor will lead the team in sacks

The Seahawks traded up to nab Taylor in last year’s draft but a fibula injury prevented him from playing a single snap during his rookie campaign. Seattle desperately needs him to get healthy in 2021 to add some juice to the team’s mediocre pass rush.

To put it bluntly, if Jamal Adams leads the team again in sacks this season then something has gone horribly wrong. Having a safety who can rush the passer is a nice bonus for a team, but it’s not the basis of a quality pass rush. Seattle needs their front seven to make more of an impact when it comes to harassing the quarterback.

Taylor wasn’t an overly consistent player during his collegiate time at Tennessee, but he did flash major pass-rushing chops. He projects as a guy who can play outside linebacker in Seattle’s 3-4 scheme who can really trouble opposing tackles with his speed.

Taylor isn’t going to burst on the scene for 15 sacks during his first season as a pro, but he’s got the athleticism required to flirt with double-digits. That should be enough to lead the team and give the Seahawks’ defense some balance it lacked in 2020.
