QB. Kyle Trask. player. 60. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Florida. 2

Trask has lingered as an option for the Vikings, and now that the first round came and went without him being taken (as surprising as that might have been), he’s also in play as the first quarterback to go on Day 2.

Trask doesn’t fit the mold of mobile quarterback the NFL favors. But there’s no denying his production in 2020 (4,283 yards, 43 touchdowns, eight interceptions), and draft rumors tied a couple teams to holding him in high enough regard to take him in the first round.

Trask’s skill set profiles closely to Cousins’, which will turn off Vikings’ fans if the team team drafts him. But unlike Cousins, youth offers a perception of untapped upside here.

60. Kellen Mond. 1. player. QB. Texas A&M. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Mond improved as a passer during his last season at Texas A&M,  completing over 63 percent of his passes with touchdown-to-interception ratio a little better than 6:1 (19 and 3). He is one of three players in SEC history to throw for more than 9,000 yards and run for more than 1,500 yards. The others? Tim Tebow and Dak Prescott. Mond’s rushing production dropped last year compared to 2019 (294 yards and four touchdowns), but he also ran less on a per game basis.

The comps for Mond range from Dak Prescott and Colin Kaepernick to Josh Dobbs. Some analysts like him a lot (see Chris Simms’ pre-draft quarterback rankings). With decent size, good mobility and the improvement he showed in 2020, there’s a lot to like.

Getting Mond will almost surely require the Vikings to acquire a second-round pick. He could very well be the No. 1 quarterback target in mind for a lot of teams on Day 2.
