Green Bay Packers

Okay, it’s been a tough few days in the grand scheme of things for the Packers, but their draft did improve their team in several areas of need, particularly with their first three picks.

First-round selection Eric Stokes is an athletically gifted cornerback who is a natural fit for a defense that will rely heavily on zone concepts under new defensive coordinator Joe Barry.

Josh Myers can fill the void left by Corey Linsley at center and bring a nastiness to the interior of the offensive line after he was selected in the second round.

The Packers could have targeted a receiver earlier in the draft but third-round pick and yards after catch monster Amari Rodgers is an excellent fit for an offense greatly in need of a wideout who can provide the kind of versatility Deebo Samuel has offered the San Francisco 49ers since being drafted in 2019.

Rodgers fills the void in that regard, while the Packers’ final selection was one in which they added a running back in Kylin Hill who can immediately compete for playing time.

Whether the Packers have done enough to pacify franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains to be seen, but this was a draft in which Green Bay got better on both sides of the ball.
